I have done the research as far as backing up my 360 games and was investigating pioneer drives to purchase when I came across DVD duplicators that claim they work with Dual Layers. I did a search and saw one similiar unanswered question on the issue. I know the special firmware is needed for the drives for 360 games, so does that make the Duplicators unusable? I don’t have building pc knowledge and people seem to say to stay away from using the external drives (right/wrong?) with my laptop.
That makes the DVD duplicator the most simple way, but it seems unlinkly that it works the way I suspect they do.
Forget those thoughts, To backup any XBox 360 game buy a new Samsung SH–D162D Drive with Kreon 1.00 firmware. You can get them here: http://samsungdrives.com/ With this Samsung drive you can dump the game to a full ISO. The Samsung drive is ONLY a reader NOT a burner. Now you can take ANY DVD burner that can burn DL +R media and burn the ISO. And it better to burn the ISO with a DVDROM booktype. Great cheap drive is a Pioneer 116D Burner. NOTE: Xbox game backups ONLY work if your Xbox is modded. You must flash your Xbox DVD ROM drive with iXtreme 1.51, Once this is all done your in business. P.S. I did’nt tell you how to flash your Xbox as it is’nt as easy to do as flashing a Computers DVD drive. There are many companies that will flash your Xbox for a fee. The reason im not telling you how to do the Xbox 360 is because if you make a mistake you brick the drive ( It’s useless ) otherwise if done correct you can backup anything out there. Once iXtreme 1.6 is released for Xbox 360 it will allow the Xbox 360’s Internal DVD Rom drive to dump games tO hdd. Thats the story. Want to know more go here: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php Have Fun!!
P.S. The Samsung drive with Kreon 1.00 put in a external case using USB rips games 100%. I also did’nt tell you that when you burn Xbox games it’s BEST to burn at 2.4x and use Verbatium DL +R Media. Been doing it for years, Wish i could do PS3 but no one can and there is a reason for that and it is’nt because of Blu-Ray either. Thats another story. Good Luck as its really easy but i prefer you have your console modded by a pro especially if you have a newer Xbox 360 with a LiteOn drive and a Jasper Motherboard, Sorry if im going way over your head but i answered alot 4u. BTW the jasper motherboard is the newest and best. Before that was the Falcon Motherboard which is ok but Microsoft messed up and built many of Xboxs with the wrong solder which may cause whats called RROD (Red Ring Of Death). Which can be fixed but it depends who does it depends how long it will last. Last thing i will tell you is as of 10/08 Jasper motherboards were released. Enjoy! and visit a site thats more into Xbox Info as it’s limited here.
