DVD-R DL vs DVD+R DL

I have a Pioneer 116D burner and want to burn my movies on DVD9 media. Which format would be best to play in my stand alone DVD players ?

Are Ritek Ridata DVD9 disks of good enough quality ?

Thank You

I’ve found DVD+R DL bitset to DVD-ROM work very well. I’ve had less success with -R DL…some standalones will play them, some not - better read your standalone manual to definitely see what it supports (if you haven’t already)

I wouldn’t trust any DL apart from Verbatim (and I have tried others)…but that’s personal choice.

aargh

Stay away from any DL disc that is not Verbatim

I suggest to use DVD+R DL media, because often (not always) the -R DL are not compatible with standalone players :frowning:

Of course, the only way to know if your standalone can read -RDL discs is to do a test by yourself, but if you don’t want to waste a disc go for a +R DL

I just ordered these: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f58/20-pack-verbatim-8-5gb-dl-dual-layer-disc-media-25-99-free-shipping-no-rebates-251325/

ThanX for the quick help
