I have a PC with XP and a RICOH MP5125A DVD+RW/+R combo CDRW drive and a Philips R75.
The problem I have is that when I create a DVD+RW on my Philips R75 and then use DVD Decrypter and Nero 5 (or any any DVD copying process), the programs report that there is insufficient space on a DVD+R to make a full copy of the DVD+RW, even if I know I left a lot free and are well within the 4.7GB limit.
I do this because I like to record stuff on the Philips and reauthor the menus etc on DVD+RW then I want a permanent copy of that on DVD+R.
It almost seems that XP or the DVD burning programs don't think that the DVD+R has 4.7GB capacity.
Should a DVD+RW copy directly onto a DVD+R - are they identical capacities? I am using Maxell DVD+R and Verbatim and Ricoh DVD+RW.
Does anyone have any experience of a similar problem?
