I believe you are misinterpreting what Forum Member mciahel and I are saying. There isn’t any thing ‘wrong’ with the Vista Operating System and/or your TS-L632H Optical Drive. It just the known problematic Windows Vista Operating System Native Burning Software. Your TS-L632H Optical Drive will produce quality error free results – you just need to use of known proven high quality error free Media.
If you use known proven high quality Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Media and a ‘Real’ Burning Software Program you shouldn’t have any problems with your TS-L632H Optical Drive.
A excellent quality error free ‘freeware’ CD/DVD burning program is ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com). There are other good CD/DVD burning programs available – suggest visiting the below CDFreaks Forum posting and look under the CD/DVD Burning ->
Also to ensure you are producing quality error free Burned CD/DVD Disk with your TS-L632H Optical Drive suggest checking your Media Disk after Burning. Suggest using a diagnostic software utility similar to N e r o CD DVD Speed (http://www.cdspeed2000.com/files/NeroCDSpeed_47716.zip) and perform a ScanDisc surface scan on your burned Media Disk. If the N e r o ScanDisc surface scan reveals ANY Yellow Damaged and/or Red Bad sectors indicates a ‘Defective’ ‘Bad Burn’ and somewhere down the line the burn data will be difficult to retrieve. A quality error free Burn should not contain ANY Yellow Damaged and/or Red Bad sectors.
Another Point – Don’t make the mistake of totally relying on ‘Thumb-Drive’ as you sole data backup source. ‘Thumb-Drive’ are also prone to failure and will lose data. If you really value your ‘Important’ data you should have a couple of different data backups up sources – suggest an external USB/FireWire Hard Drive, CD DVD Media, and Thumb-Drive. Don’t make the mistake of putting your eggs in just one basket.
