DVD-R burn error

Hi, I’m trying to create a data dvd. I’ve a HP Compaq nc2400 with a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-842S. I’ve used CDBurnerXP and BurnAware Free to try create these, but every time I try (and I’ve tried multiple times with different data) it gets to about 70% done and an error comes up. The data is on an external HD (which I can access and copy fine)

“devUnknownError” is the error for CDBurnerXP. Really rather annoying, I’ve made 5 coasters so far and really afraid to make any other as it just seems to be a waste of money

My discs are Maxell DVD-R, and the DVD Identifier says this:

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:RITEKF1]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R]
Manufacturer Name : [Ritek Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [RITEKF1]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4.71 GB (4.38 GiB)]

[ DVD Identifier V5.2.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]

Any help anyone could offer I’d really appreciate please:)

Manufacturer ID : [[B]RITEK[/B]F1]
The media Manufactured by RITEK is known for problematic issues which are used by many well known companies, try using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden

As StorJumper says try better Media for better results.

Ditto, must have been your disc. Try using Verbatim, I use this often for my burning needs and I have not encountered much problems with it.:iagree:
