I’d burn them on a fire before actually trying to usefully burn data onto them. Too bad too much poisonous chemicals are given off when DVD-R’s are put on a fire.

Anyone want to join in a DVD burning event?

For what drive - Though the Liteon should HATE this bottom of the barrel DVD-R, one of the firmware updates was showing good Kprobe results for this (or was that with the aid of a codeswap) - they’re definitely in the realm of media that is not highly regarded, though perhaps above Princo and unknown.

Depends, of course, if the burn is required for more than a couple of throwaway playings on DVD (where the only thing that matters there is that it’s good enough NOW), then you really want to be using good media that your drive burns well, even if it’s twice the price of the “adequate” and 4 times the price of the “crap”.
