DVD quality tests on 2166D

Hi, I am brand new to the forum, so please excuse me if I make any mistake in posting.

I bought an external USB 2.0 DVD writer, LG 2166D.
I burned a couple of DVDs, at 8x and 4x, with Nero Everything seems OK.

My problem is that I cannot find any software to run the usual quality test on the DVD I burnt.

I tried Nero DVD Speed 4.5, DVDInfoPro 4.5.9, Kprobe2. They do not allow me to run the usual PI/PF test.

Is there any way to solve this? Is there any other software I should try?

Thank you

It’s not a software issue - quality scanning is not supported by your drive (or for that matter, any LG writer). There isn’t anything you can do about it.

Only certain drives support quality scanning as a feature. If you really want to do quality scans on discs, you need to get hold of a Lite-On or BenQ writer (but NOT the DQ60 or 1670 which do not support quality scanning). This is the reason why many people here have two writers - one for burning, one for scanning.

Thank you for your reply.

I guess I should have checked before, sigh
