Ok, that’s a bit of information. Still don’t know the make and model burner you are using.
DVDDecrypter by itself is not effective on many newer movies as a decryption/ripping program. There have been many newer protection schemes introduced since development of Decrypter was shut down.
To decrypt dvds and rip to the hard drive you should get DVDFab HD Decrypter. It is the free decryption section of DVDFab and it will continue to function even after the trial for the main section of DVDFab expires. http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
To reduce the size of the movie to fit onto a blank dvd you can use DVDShrink. It is also free to use: http://www.cdfreaks.com/software/Copy-DVD-Movie-Software/DVDshrink/DVDShrink.html
I haven’t used Avi2DVD in a very long time, but I understand it can use the HC encoder, so it should be fine for avi to dvd conversions.
The media you are using is mediocre, though Sony can be very good if it matches up to your burner well. That doesn’t seem to be happening here in your case. Try the Verbatim and burn at slower than max speed.
