Dvd Player I/o Error Not Accessible

LIGHT ON FRONT STAYS ON CAN EJECT DISC FROM MENU.
D:\is not accessible
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error

Uninstall the ide channels in devicemanager, then restart.

did what you told me DVD still wont work thanks, have you got any other ideas. when i put a dvd in the light flashes then just stays on but nothing else happens,except can eject from my computer. it worked my daughter was using it and now it wont work.

yes device manager list it as matshita dvd-ram LF-D310
