I was wondering if there is anyway to password protect a dvd from the time that it is inserted into the machine? so you have to put in a password to access any of the data on the DVD. Specifically for DVD+/-RW. I have some sensative information that i would like to backup certain files and be ensured that no-one but myself can access it.
Hey and wellcome to CD Freaks
I think you will need a 3rd party prog to do this. I will have look for you.
The only I could see this happening is if you can get a program burned onto the disc that prevents opening the disc structure in Windows and it auto-run's with a password verification.
I don't see why you need any DVD-specific tools. Just encrypt it using a standard encryption tool before you burn it. Here are some free encryption tools to get you started.
