Okay forgive my nooby style question here but I want to learn what media to get.
I am buying some DVDs and am going to buy Verbatim brand which I understand is the general recomendation around here. So, I am left with some questions from my lack of knowledge.
First, does dual layer just mean dual sided? If it is one sided and two layers on one side then do I need a special burner for it to burn or will it work with my existing DVD burner? Here is what my logs say from my last burn:
7/12/2008 2:15:56 PM info Compatible media types : DVD-R, DVD-RW Seq., DVD-RW RO, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-R, CD-RW, DL DVD+R
7/12/2008 2:15:49 PM info New Drive selected : 0:2:0 - TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B TS04 D
7/12/2008 2:15:21 PM info Current Drive selected : 0:2:0 - TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B TS04 D
Okay next question does it really matter if I choose DVD-R vs DVD+R. I know that what it plays in have to be compatible and pretty much everything I have is compatible with both but I think DVD-R is the more common so I should stick with that. Input on this would be helpful.
Anything else I should consider?
