I agree with Reasonsnotrules. NEVER use paper stick-on lablels. After you discover that you get playback problems with your standalone player due to spin-balancing problems, you will have a nightmare of a time trying to remove the paper labels without damaging your disks. Printable media, however, is not a problem but there is the chance that the brand of printable media you buy will not be compatible with your burner and/or player so be careful and test whatever type of printable media you choose before you buy in bulk.
But my suggestion is that since you already own the originals with the case, artwork and printed disk, why put so much effort into a labeling a backup disk? It's just a backup afterall. You could just write on the disks with an appropriate marker. I guess you just want your backups to look pretty, which, of course, is a valid desire.
