DVD-media, faster than 20x writing?

Hi!

I tried many 24x writers and never had a speed faster than 20x. And even this was only possible with T03 and TYG03.

Is there really media out there that can be burned (without patched FW) at 24x speed?

No. At least not that I know of.:wink:

So whats the meaning of 24x-writers?

Wenn I burn 20x the drives are very loud, wonder how it is at 24x :wink:

My TSST SH-S223B and HL-DT-ST GH22NS70 beautifully burn MCC 004 on 22x speed. What I’m doing wrong? :slight_smile:

New HL-DT-ST and TSST burners also can burn MCC 004 on 24x speed and results are pretty good even with average-quality media (like Verbatims which are sold in Russia)

Yes. For example:

AD-7280S / TYG03

AD-7280S / TYG03

AD-7240S / TYG03

And yes, the 24x burns are loud. :slight_smile:

@blackened2687

I have 24x from Liteon, Samsung, Pioneer, LG. And now one of em burns 16x TY or MCC on 24 :frowning:

@jadburner

Ah, Optiarc burns many media faster, I remember it from the old NEC 35x-series

I’m sure there’s a checkered flag for it somewhere!

Problem solved!

Looks my old Nero 7 doesn´t support more than 20x (dunno why), my cheap Nero 12 OEM (from Asus DVD RW) let me choose higher speeds with specific media
