Dvd hardware not recording properly

Hello, I recently purchesed a dvd drive (TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B)…I’ve updated to the newest driver, but when i back up a dvd half way through or near the end of the film (in play back on my standalone) the film goes jerky and stops for 4 or 5 seconds at a time…any help on trying to fix this prob would be great !!! Welcome to cdfreaks :slight_smile:

It sounds like a media problem. You will need to use good quality media with the H552B. What media are you using? You can use DVD Identifier to find out the media code. :wink:

Hello, I feel welcome already…anyway, the media I’m using are Datawrite 8x dvd-r…but when i run it through dvd identifier this is the media code (by the way this means nothing too me)…

It also says that it is manufactured by CMC Magnetics corps…are they the same people as datawrite?..thanks for the help COdeKing
