Good way to tackle piracy. Unless people start to export pirated HD-DVD & Bluray Discs.

If last time is any guide. The manufacturers will simply design their units to play all of the HD formats so they can sell them everywhere.

A goog example of amrket competiveness and market price formation in a global economy - this way it “protects” chinese from the temptation to get unauthorized stuff and prevent us from getting cheaper players - globalization and liberal ideas at their best!
