Dvd firmware

how can i know if i can update my dvd firmware?

Check the manufacturer’s website to see if there’s a newer version available than currently installed in your drive (you can check which version is installed by using a tool like Nero InfoTool or CD-DVD Speed). If there is a newer version then you can install it but if you have no idea what you’re doing I would say “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. There is no need to upgrade firmware if your drive is working fine. Firmware releases often have a list of changes posted with them. Read them to find out what a new version adds and then decide if you want to upgrade. If you need help on how to upgrade you can search our forum or ask for help in our firmware Forum. Be sure to mention you drive manufacturer and model of course

i need it for dvd player… not dvd burner
how can i check it?

Like said G@M3FR3@K, use Infotool to see what model is, and then go to this site to see if there is a new firmware. Simply choose your model, as identified by infotool, and download.
