Hi stoneheart and welcome,
First off, try ticking Disable PathPlayer and give it another shot .
If it's already disabled, try Always enable PathPlayer.
As an FYI, recommend that you never use Enable PathPlayer when necessary. This setting is known to cause problems.
You can also try another ODD. Frequently a disc that fails to read properly in one drive will read ok in another.
A third option is to clean the disc.
Even if it looks ok (besides the superficial scratches), try cleaning the disc with a microfiber cloth and alcohol, windex or similar. Just don't use any solvents that will degrade plastics. Be certain to wipe from the inside to the outside of the disc and not in a circular motion.
You can also try Brasso metal polish (good for plastic as well). This will act like a jeweler's rouge and help to minimize the effects of the surface defects on laser focus.
I've heard that Pledge furniture wax will work as well, but I've never tried it.
I can personally vouch for Brasso
Finally, you can update to the current version v.184.108.40.206. or even v.220.127.116.11.
Good luck and let us know.
