@ babychar2002,

How long ago was this DVD recorded?

Perchance can you provide the Manufacture ID and Media Code (Example- RitekG05) of the DVD Media that this DVD was recorded on? You can obtain the Manufacture ID and Media Code of your DVD Media by using DVDInfo Pro (http://www.dvdinfopro.com) or similar software utility.

Suggest checking this problematic DVD with Nero CD-DVD Speed (http://www.cdspeed2000.com) for read errors. Below is a Forum Link that depicts in detail exactly how to use Nero CD-DVD Speed to check for read errors. I believe if you check this problematic DVD you will find that it contains read errors and that is why you are unable to play this DVD in any of your DVD devices.

hey bjkg,

I have burned this dvd about a year ago. The manufacture is “ProdiscF01”, I tried to use the nerospeed thingy but it doesnt even come up there. I got the disc into both of the drives but nothing appear in the nero speed.

@ babychar2002,

Since Nero CD-DVD Speed is unable to read the suspect DVD in two different devices it is safe to assume the DVD disk is unreadable.

In seeing that the suspect DVD was Burned a year ago the problem is most likely caused by something referred to as DVD Rot. In essence the DVD media has deteriorated to the point of unreadable.

I am not going to attempt to explain what DVD Rot is but suggest doing a Google (http://www.google.com) search for the term DVD Rot.

This problem of DVD Rot is a prime example why if the data you are burning on to a DVD is important information to you it is important to use top of the line quality reliable DVD media.

hey bjkg,

I dont really understand what u mean by unreadable. Although my 2 drives can not read the disc, my stand alone dvd players can play it without a problem. Is this still consider as unreadable?
