I bought some dvd-dl's ata a flea market recently. Does my dvd player support this format or do I now own some junk dvd's?
A lot of dvd players won't play -r dl dvds. Most won't play +r dl dvds unless you booktype them to dvd-rom.
Your burner will support both DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL.
Burn quality will vary dependent on the brand of the media you have purchased. Lite-On's are not the best dual layer burners but hopefully you will get some decent results.
I am trying to look at a new DVD burner and I often burn DVD +r DL Verbatium only (I now have 8.5's from Singapore)
What's really good drive for DL's and not too expensive?
For me the best DL good quality media burners are Pioneer, always burn fine specialy Verbatins, even 2.4X Verbatins can burn at 8X and works fine. I burn more than 100 Verbatins and Mitsubish DL discs and never had any coasters.
