DVD+DL movie quality backup question?

Hi all,

If I back up one of my commerial DVD films to a dual layer DVD+DL using DVDdecrypter or DVDshrink and my NEC3540 will I lose any film/picture quality at all.

Hopefully because the copy will fit the complete whole disc without compressing/shrinking - the quality should be the same.

Is this right?

if u want a perfect back up of your dl original disc…use dvd decrypter in “ISO Read” mode then burn it using “ISO Write” mode w/ dvd Decrypter. use it at 2.4x for your first try. Don’t use dvd shrink

    Why???

because dvdshrink SHRINKS the disc which would reduce quality???

DVDShrink will also rip and burn ISO files without compression, but there’s no reason to use anything but Decryptor.

Agree :iagree:
DVDShrink can do BOTH things: reduce size & burn on 4.7GB medium, OR just ripping & burn on 8.5GB medium.
I prefer DVDShrink for shrinking/ripping, DVDDecryptor for burning ISO files.
So, IMHO there is NO REASON to be afraid of DVDShrink!
