Even so, I really wish the prices would come down on DL discs since they have pretty much remained the same price for over a year in retail stores. If they would, say drop it to $1 USD, it would probably sell just as much as SL discs.


Oh please, what HD content are people going to burn to a DVD-9 ? HDTV recordings ? Not allowed in the world of DMCA right ? Backups of HD DVDs or Blu ray’s multi-disc spanned or shrunk? Maybe but not likely. Whats left ?

I think quality DL’s seem to be harder to produce than regular dvd’s. Only one company seems to be able to produce them on a consistent level of quality and thats Verbatim. I would expect prices to drop faster if there were more companies competing with quality product, but thats not the case. I suppose we need some other companies to refine their techniques. Also the news that verbatim is going to start outsourcing their DL media doesn’t bode well either.
