The VOBs made by DVDdecryptor are very fragmented especially the first large VOB.
I decripted a dvd to 160Gb disk with 80Gb of free unfragmented space.
The first large VOB in my case VTS_06_1.VOB had 1235 fragments. The second only 100 fragments. Others - less then 10.
What burning performance one could expect?
Nero speed tests show tens of times of burning speed when you test the burning of one DVD.
But when I tested a speed of burning of two different dvd's with two simultanious sessions of Nero. The average speed was 3.5x.
I have two drives - one LG, one LiteOn. I intend to buy two NEC drives for greater compatibility. But currently one of the drives gives 6x and 8x speed and the other older one gives only 4x speed. So simultanious burning of two disks is imposssible unless I burn them with different sessions and different speeds.
After extensive defragmentation, tests show 12x average speed on both simultanious Nero sesions.
I guess if there any "on the fly" defragmentation solutions? Like "Use antifragmentation method for downloads" option in DC++...
