Im thinking it was ripped under region 2 not 1 but i have no clue
thanks for any help.

You have problems with the media. What brand or media ID is it?

its a video of a band playing.

Or I guess where can I find the media id?

No I mean what brand are the blank recordable DVDs you are using?

Edit: OK download CD-DVD Speed, run it and put one of the blanks in the drive. Then go to the Disc Info tab and tell us what the media ID is.

sony dvd-r

but the original dvd+rw the brand is called adsa or something like that

Well give us the media IDs of both discs (see post #5 above).

Otherwise I suggest you make an ISO image from the original +RW using the ‘ISO Read’ function of ImgBurn (get it here).

Then burn that ISO back to a new +R or -R using the ‘ISO Write’ function of the same program.

sorry i didnt see that post. downloading now.

its running now

This was the dvd Im trying to back up.

I tried to copy an ISO image and it gave me a cyclic error or something very similar to cyclic.

Bad media, bad burn, CRC errors.

Set a lower read speed, try again.

I did still failure, I think its just a lost cause all the way. :o

Then try your luck with another drive and clean the disc too.

Yes try your DVD-ROM to read the ISO. In my limited experience the JLMS XJ-HD166S is a better reader than the NEC writer.

If that doesn’t work then find someone with a LiteOn or LG writer, as these are very good readers as well.

I wasnt able to make a full iso, the part that did worked fine but then I got a cyclic error again, I think the dvd is corrupted somehow, although I dont understand how it plays fine in a dvd player. I dont know anyone that has either of those readers you speak of. I appreciate the help you guys have given me. Hopefully something good will come out of this.
