I have a short segment from a DVD that is appropriate for demonstration purposes in a newsgroup that I'm involved in. This is a standard DVD with encryption (standard DVD encryption)
(before I forget: P4 2.6 800fsb 1gigTwinXmem ABITIC7MAX3mobo Radeon 128pro and winXPpro I have access to virtual / any all video software either via net connection or newsgroup)
Here are the tools I've used so far, please fill in the missing tools ( and let me know if I'm on the right track) AND how you would do it - without getting to complicated!
I decrypted the video (and created the vob and ifo files) using DVD decrypter. I now have raw decrypted video files.
Now I need to find and take just the portion of the file that I want to ultimate upload. Not sure what tool I need here - I need to "see" the video and be able to easily "cut" the scene out that I wish to use.
At some point I need to convert this to a good standard format that is of #1 high quality and #2 something that most everyone will be able to easily view using common viewing software (please no exotic video file types) for windows viewing.
The conversion process should shrink it (compress) in the process.
Now I have the final product and am ready to go! I will need to take either the "one large file" and split it down into manageable segments - (master splitter?) or take the files and compress them (and package them) still further using winRAR -- at this point I like winRAR option because it's so easy to use (and I'm more familiar with it.)
Finally, I upload the product to newsgroup for all to enjoy and learn!
Thank you for your kind helps!
