My dvd burner doesn’t recognize dvds like it used to (tried the troubleshooting topic that Dee-ehn recommended still not working), and it’s odd cuz I had my new computer for only a month. My dvd drive can now only read cd-r and play audio. I am thinking of purchasing a dvd cleaner, but I’m thinking if my dvd drive doesn’t recognize dvds, how will it recognize the dvd cleaner?
most drive manufacturers recommend not to use lens cleaning discs.
If you can’t access DVD media, but CD media, then the drive is probably faulty. As this is a new computer, the drive is probably under warranty.
Please contact the manufacturer of your computer or your vendor for further advice.
