As a local retailer has stated there are several types of new encryption / copyright and that certain software now does not mix with particular brands of hardware.
All this is a giant cluster of confusion and the robot is running around screaming that "Danger Danger-it does not compute" and knowing that knowledge is power I need a top up.
While sitting in at about the advanced group level of PC builders there is no worries there, and once being well into the top 60 worldwide for folding I know a little about running 16 top end dual PC's 24/7, but now when it comes to do something different (like burning a simple movie) the software builders leave me for dead and my brain now hurts.
Being told now that one or both of my DVD burners, one an LG GSA-4163B and the newer Pioneer 109 may not lend itself toward doing the job, and murdering the salesman that sold me the "$(&^@#*" things may cause a ripple in my normal peacefull lifestyle.
OK, armed with the stock Nero for most generic normal burning, + Nero 6.6 with all the bells and whistles for some more complicated work, and add now the world rated #1 s/w "1 click DVD" (also not a freebie) and "copy to DVD SE" + the DVD43free gem to top it off, I need to know if I have the ammo needed to burn these suckers with a minimum of Valium intake.
To toss in the spanner, which has to happen in all matters PC related, the salesman adds in a faint voice that the 5th disk burnt on any but the very best and most expensive burner locks it at whatever the last disks region was, terrific stuff when my overflowing DVD library is full of every region DVD on the planet.
To also ask a dum question, how does one copy disk 1 of Far-Cry ? so i can put the original away for safe keeping.
Can any kind soul assist with the info I need to hear, IE will the two burners combined with the software currently armed with do the job properly with a minimum of fuss.
