This is not surprising at all. I paid CDN$300 for my first DVD burner, and now for that price I can buy three burners with far better specifications.

so at this pace, I take it the MPAA is going to roce either blue ray or HD DVD on us all cause too many Joe Sixpacks will be able to “bootleg movies” and cost the industry a tonne of money. Too bad they have not figured out that it’s lack of excellent movies that are forcing us to stay home. Last movie I saw in theatres was the original Matrix…and that I saw 12 times cause I thought it was so excellent. Now I just wait to rent them cause everything that has come out since has pretty much blown goats, with a few exceptions. We want QUALITY movies, not a bunch of drivel!
