Does anyone know why I would have an otherwise functioning DVD drive that can recognize an audio or data CD but not recognize a video DVD?
If I place a video disc, for example Hermie and Friends, into faullty drive Windows explorer shows nothing. If I place same disc into good drive, Windows Explorer shows me all of the disc contents, folders etc. and attempts to run any auto play files present.
If I place a data disc, example Samsung DVD writer nero 8 essentials disc, in faulty drive the auto.inf runs and I can also look at all of the files on the disc. And of course I can see the everything on the good drive.
Should I just replace the faulty drive or is there a simple explanation for this behavior?
