[qanda]This thread is about the Optiarc AD-7190A. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Hello, I am trying to burn an .iso to a DVD I have but it will not write for some reason.

Windows doesn’t show a DVD when I put the disc in.
I’ve tried CopyToDVD, Nero and Burn My Files V3

Welcome to the forum

More information is needed

What discs are you using exactly? Can you post here brand and mediacode? The mediacode can be found with DVD Identifier or with cd-dvd speed or with ImgBurn (all free softwares)

Are you trying to burn a too large file on the disc maybe? How did you create the ISO file? What is the ISO file dimension?

The 2 DVD-R Discs that I used are Memorex and Maxell. The ISO file is 3.8 gb so it would fit perfectly onto the 4.7 gb disc.

Here is the Memorex Disc

Both discs you are using are not exactly the very best, and maybe your drive is not able to write these discs correctly.

Did you check if it is available an update for the drive firmware? Maybe this is sufficient to solve

What disc should I get?

#6

The best media available in the market currently are Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden

that is quite bad, either that drive can’t read the id, or those disc are complete garbage
