DVD Burner problems

My DVD Burner has stopped completing the task
Usng Divx ,it gets to the end of the process (100%) and states ‘transfer cancelled’

Roxio software simply states’Roxio has stopped working ’ without starting.

I have replaced the driver for the Matshusita burner.

Any ideas?

Thanks

What brand of blank DVD are you using? Burn speed? OS? Is this a desktop or laptop computer? What are you trying to burn?

#3

Thank you for replying.I am using Fuji CDs and DVDs on a Dell M1330 laptop running Vista.I normally run at 8x and am trying to transfer AVI film files and WMV music.

I do not have a Roxio installation disc but presumably Dell would supply one.

I have not had a problem in the past doing the above.

Thanks

Alan

Laptop burners, especially yours, are pretty touchy about media. If these Fuji’s have worked for you before, try Imgburn, http://www.imgburn.com/, to burn your files to disk and post the burn log if there is a problem. No need for a driver, it comes with the OS. You might want to slow the burn speed to 6X. Around here people prefer TY or Verbatim (MIT) disks. Post back with your results using Imgburn.

It gets more mysterious.Using Imgburn the task completes 100% but there is absolutely nothing on the CDR disc and it is still usable.
However I initally downloaded in error Expressburn. This produces a readable disc.
Any ideas?

The only CD discs I’ve burned with ImgBurn have beeen data .mp3 & Audio CD so I don’t know how it does with Divx files.
If you post the ImgBurn log it will help .At least it probably will.
Someone may see why it didn’t actually do the burn.
Unless you did the burn from a .iso file the only mode that ImgBurn could use is Build mode. If you used Build mode I would try the default settings first.
I have the Elby software so I use those in the ImgBurn I/O you are probably using SPTI Microsoft. That usually works.
Anyway post the log if you have it or try again & post the new one.

This is what I see .
It looks like you did this in “Test” mode so Uncheck that.
I have never used test mode so I’m not completely sure that is the only problem.
Also the disc you are using lists its write speeds as 8x & 24X .
I think that is why you got the Miscompare error .For this disc try 8x & see if the Miscompare goes away.
I do my Audio CD burns from a cue file

Changing the speed and cancelling ‘test’ seems to have sorted it.
The help is much appreciated.
