Dvd-burner need advice please

i need/want a dvd burner and am sort of a newbie at it, so i want some recommenddations on a good dvd-burner (i want the best :bigsmile: )

i am thinking of getting one of the multi-format ones, like the kind that supports all the trypes

I have heard that the NEC ND-1300A/GEN is pretty good, and they are relatively cheap too. I think you can pick one up for $250 at newegg.com. BTW it supports both + and - DVD-r/rw writing

What about the SONY DRU500 or DRU510?

DRU510 writes DVD+RW at 4x!!

thanks for your replies, i think i will look around for some cheap prices, i looked at some reviews for the sony and the nec dvd burner i think i am leening to the sony one.

It’s finicky when it comes to media. 510 will burn just about anything you throw at it. In the US both the 500AX and 510A are the same price, better to go with the 510A.

have heard some good stuff about the tdk 440n what do you guys think,

i can get it for $300 at this store down the road,

Get the Sony,it plays everything i throw at it ,had mine since October '02
