Assuming your optical drive(s) are on the Secondary IDE Channel, can you please confirm what is shown in Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers / Secondary IDE Channel Properties / Advanced Settings tab / Current Transfer Mode (for both drives, if you have 2)?
Secondly, on the next tab called "Driver", does it show the "Driver Provider" as Microsoft or Intel?
Finally, under Software or Programs, do you see the "Intel Application Accelerator" installed on your system?
You can also try and "Uninstall" the Secondary IDE Channel in DM (right-click on it and select uninstall) and let Windows detect and install it fresh after a reboot. This could correct any irregularities that may be causing your problem.
It can't hurt either to uninstall 1Click etc. while troubleshooting and use the updated Nero only as reference. Similarly, it would be good to know you have tried with some Verbatim discs.
