it a hard choice between MP4/H.264/AAC and MKV/H.264/AAC
do you know of any program that can convert mkv to mp4 ,converts using direct stream copy instead of re-encoding
or maybe a mp4 multiplexer?
that will accept mkv or avi for video sources and mp4 for audio sources
how well does mp4 handle subtitles and multi
audio streams?? as I find that mkv handles multi subtitles
and multi audio streams very well
AVI/XVID/MP3 is not an option I think as Im going for quality and small filesizes not compatibility atm and I think in the not too far off future MP4/H.264/AAC and MKV/H.264/AAC will be playable on a wide range of devices.
I know what you mean about 1080 P stuff its very nice very easy on
the eye just a litte bit of a shame that there file sizes are so huge, though
with hdd and flashdrives getting bigger and cheaper all the time
it may not be too far away before a 12gb file is considered small
