DVD Backup

I just purchased a stand alone Panasonic DVD Recorder .I have been having fun transfering some VHS movies to DVD . I would realy like to make backup’s of some DVD movies for my personal use . I understand that The Movie Industry insists on putting copy protection on their DVD’s but I have discovered a couple of companies that claim that they have devices that will defeat copy protection and allow DVD to DVD copying .
Are these Folks selling a reliable product or is this a waste of money .
If they are honest , any recommendations ?

Hi georgetrains,

you may take a look at the Tutorials in the Video (e.g. MPEG-4), (S)VCD Editing and Authoring Forum. I think that’s what you’re looking for :).

Im sure he will think you for the permission kalas lol

You could use DVD Decrypter to rip the files from the dvd whilst removing the protection, then doing what ever you want with that.

All discussed before was SW solution. You do not need standalone DVD recorder in this case. To your question about Video Stabilizer I can recomend one I’m using with Panasonic DMR-E80 and Philips DVDR-75
