DVD Backup Resolution for Projector

I need to backup several DVD-Movies to a computer hard drive and play them in the highest resolution I can get so that I can play them continuously on a 1024x768 projector. Have DVDFab Platinum/Nero and need advice on how to get the best playback possible, continuously from the hard drive.

Depending on the size and amount of compression DVDFab or Nero Recode should do just fine. If it is a large project then I would use DVD Rebuilder. You say you are going to be playing the movies from your HDD though you should be able to simply rip to your HDD and play from there uncompressed.

So far I have ripped a movie to the hard drive and created an iso format and a vob format, but don’t know how to play them. Sorry for what’s probably such a dumb question.

I would like to just rip the movie into an uncompressed format on the hard drive, but I don’t know which options to choose in DVDFab to get it into a playable format.

Thanks!

If you’ve got them as ISO files, use VLC. There are even a bunch of filters available in VLC such as deinterlace, sharpen, etc.

VLC player is an excellent player and Media Player Classic also works well…both will play either format IIRC. The only dumb question is the one not asked.

I would like to just rip the movie into an uncompressed format on the hard drive, but I don’t know which options to choose in DVDFab to get it into a playable format.

Thanks!

If you don’t want the menu or special features choose Main Movie. If you want everything choose Full Disc. Simply rip and watch…you are done.

if using dvdfab hd decrypter there will be no compression, if you are using gold or platinum versions, be sure to select DVD9 at the bottom.

and excellent suggestion on VLC this will play both VOB and ISO. just right click on the video_ts folder or ISO file and click play with vlc.
