It seems that US firms trying to sue ppl in the Netherlands have broken the Dutch privacy laws. It seems that privacy laws mean little to groups like Brein who represent over 52 media organisations, including EMI, Universal and Sony Music.

Even after this ruling the anti-piracy group Brein still intends to take the case to a higher court in attemppt to discover the identities of file-sharers.

Anthough this might be a short reprieve for the users of file-sharing netwroks, it is an important victory in the quest to protect the privacy of internet users from large organisations.
