I’ll have a scan coming shortly - unfortunately it won’t be a full disc. :frowning: But I’m going to burn it off at 12x and see what I get.

Being delayed here a bit - I’m doing two new burns so I get a full disc. Both burns are going to be at 8x. I’ll be using Nero Recode for both burns of the disc. I’m using 8x since it is the discs rated speed even though my BenQ (in Nero at least) says I can write all the way up to 16x and on my NEC ND3500AG using Mad Dog 2.FA SE firmware I have selectable speeds in Nero all the way up to 12x. I’m excited to get this first burn under way on the NEC to see what she does and then to compare the BenQ to it! I’ll post both scans form the BenQ once I’m done.

Not sure what happened with the NEC burn but it was done at 8x. Looks like a firmware issue to me - maybe the Mad Dog 2.FA SE firmware with stock write strats isn’t the best for this media?

Doing a burn on the BenQ next - so that is in progress. I’ll post with the scan once it’s finished.

Here is the BenQ burn at 8x. Much better than the NEC burn.

Just flashed the NEC ND3500AG with Quikee’s V3B3R2 firmware so we’ll give that shot and see how it goes. In Nero now I have a 16x selectable speed but am going to burn it at 8x. keeps his fingers crossed

The media is junk. :frowning: Sent an email to Newegg about it. Outside of that one good BenQ burn all the other burns have been crap. PI Errors up and beyond 300+ or better. PI Failures aren’t too terrible but with that many PI Errors, blech…

Probably fake. Do they say Made In Japan on the box?
