Dropped laptop & CD drive not working

Need your help, dropped my laptop on hardwood floor, everything is working except for my CD, first I cannot open the CD drive, second the CD drive dissappeared from my computer. When I went to MY COMPUTER, under devices with removable storage there is nothing as if the CD drive does not exist. And when I tried to save as to a cd its not displaying that as an option. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO????

You should check the drive to see if it got jarred loose from the connection to the motherboard in the laptop and check to see if the screw if there are any that holds onto the cd drive is there still. Was there a cd media in the drive at the time it you dropped it?

Unsure how to do this. I’m a great handyman but 'puters scare me!
