Hello my Friends!

  1. Can you, please, let me know which is in your opinion the best drive to perform CD-DVD Speed Tests?

  2. Can it be an external drive?

Thank you in advance.

Basically any liteon drive is good for the quality tests with cd-dvd speed (except for CDs, because with these media liteon drives are not fully reliable).

BenQ 1640/1650/1655 can be used also to run tests with cd-dvd speed.

Also external drives can be used for tests :iagree:

Optiarc 7203A/S is great, Sammy 203x is acceptable.

I agree, surprisingly consistent scanning drive. Add the whole AD-72xx range of drives. They don’t do jitter tests though.
They are also, imo, the best drives by far for Transfer Rate Tests.

Hello, Dee!

Thank you very much for your info.

In fact i’d like to start doing CD-DVD Speed tests to my media. Having as i’ve now two “Plextors” PX810-SA, one SH S203B, one SH S203D and a Plextor Premium 2, i think maybe i need another one just for perform CD-DVD tests.

i must go external, because there is no more space for drives in my pc. This is the reason i’d like to have one drive doing all the tests including jitter. (Probably there is none drive doing all it…)
May you, please help me to decide which one i must buy?

Thank you for your time and help and excuse me please for my English. :o
