I have a very annoying problem. I have just upgraded my system to:
Gigabyte K7 Trition mother board (AGP8X/Dual Channel DDR)
1 Gig of Ram
Pioneer DVD RW DVR107D
MSI DVD ROM
My operating system is XP Pro
The main programs I use are:
Cubase SX 2.0
Sound Forge 6
My graphics and sound cards are:
Nvidia GeForce MX440 (AGP8X) Dual Output
AP2496 sound card
This is my problem.
Before the upgrade, I could use Sound Forge to extract audio, as a .wav from any CD. I did this to load my mixed sets on the computer for normalizing and track marking.
Since the upgrade, the package does not recognize either drive. If I try to open the files, rather than extract, I am given this error message
An error occurred while opening one or more files. The reason for the error could not be determined.
I can read the files in Media Player, but they are assigned as .cda.
I have read through the site, searching for .cda references, but I can't seem to find anything that resolves this issue.
I can't extract the audio in SX either.
What has happened?
Am I going mad?
I look forward to some help from the board members.
