Driver for LG GSA-4165B

Hello

i’ve just bought the LG dvd burner “GSA-4165B”.
the Firmware Version (according to NERO INFOTOOL) is : DL03,
and my driver is “5.1.2535.0 from 01/07/2001” (which was installed by my Windows XP.

  1. i would like to know where can i download and updated driver from ?
  2. for some reason the drive can’t accept my TDK DVD-R disks (not read or write on them).

can someone help me please ? :eek:

in this link (from lg site) you have a gsa-4165b firmware dl04 to download

then enter in “device driver”
then choose dvd-rom(writer)

First - thank you very much gledesma, i found the driver and updated to DL04.

but… still, i can’t burn on my TDK DVD-R media ( i get an error messege in clone DVD2 that says that maybe the media is corrupt ) , but i burned about 20 TDK’s on my LG Laptop so… :confused:

is there a way to solve this ?

I’ve also tried burning some files with Nero 6.6.0.8 ( wich worked exelant with my previous Plextor 712A ) but it got stuck after about a minute and wrote an error .

I’ve also bought a HD-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4165B and the drive just doesn’t appear on “My Computer” Window. I’ve installed Nero, DVD Power and even executed tests on it; the CD-DVD RW was even tested it; I’ve even updated the the firmware to DL04, but it just doesn’t appear on “My Comuter”; the hardware ios probably working fine because I’ve booted Unbunto 5.10 though it.

Any idea of what is going on?

Try run Nero Check to fix.

You’ll found at X:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exe
