This seems to work well, but then why bother with Windows 8? I didn’t see any REAL improvements over Windows 7!

But it doesn’t do anything about the lack of a Start menu on the desktop, which is what everyone was originally complaining about, isn’t it? How many solutions do we need that do nothing but bypass Metro/Modern while booting? There are already several programs/patches that do that plus add a customizable Start menu. And at least one of them enables customizing the Metro Start page. This is really kind of “so yesterday”.

Classic shell brings back the start menu. When my computer starts, I only need to touch “enter” once and I am on the desktop.

Simple stuff.

Bypass Modern UI can skip to the desktop. Start8 can skip to the desktop. Some other program can skip to the desktop. (Fill in the blank) can skip to the desktop. Yo Mama can skip to the desktop. Soon a new program will appear which can skip to the desktop.

Skip to my lou, my darling.
