Does the Samsung SH-S203B read into the leadin/out?

Hello,

I am trying to find a decent drive that reads into the Lead In and Out.

The Samsung SH-S203B is listed at http://www.daefeatures.co.uk/ as, but I wanted to confirm before I purchase.

Thanks

Have you visited the review in the Samsung burner section?

Yeah I have…

The review to reading into the leadin/out says that the drive does not.
While it also say the drive as a 0 offset when it is 6+.

http://www.cdfreaks.com/reviews/Samsung-SH-S203B-DVD-Burner-Review/Reading-performance.html

But http://www.daefeatures.co.uk says the drive does have an offset of +6 and read into the leadin/out.

http://www.accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm Also state the drive has a +6 offset.

Accuraterip is correct as 49 people state the drive has a +6 offset, yet the CDfreaks review states there is no offset, so I am unsure if the drive reads into the leadin/out or not, as daefeatures states the drive does!

All conflicting.

Thanks

Hi
Welcome onboard funkyblue. :iagree:
The 203B will do all you require.
Leadin/leadout HTAO etc.
It is one of the best (if not the best) allround DVDRW’s currently available.
I can’t at this precise moment show this as I am at another PC.
But somewhere in the 203 threads I put a bit about HTOA etc.

@zebadee, so you can confirm the drive reads into leadin/out? Have you tried yourself?

If so, why does the CDFreaks review state the drive does not?

Cheers

(All I want for Christmas is a decent replacement for my PX-40ts that reads into lead-in and out!)

Hi
Not sure why/what happened in the CDF review.
My article here:
Doesn’t address the issue either.

Thanks

@zebadee, so you can confirm the drive reads into leadin/out?
I couldn’t find anything in your supplied link.

May I ask for what you would need that feature?

Because I want to read all of a CD. No flame wars people I know the details, Just trying to find a drive that reads into the leadin/out or has a 0 offset when reading
