Does Clone leave anything

Hi

Just thinking of purchasing Clone DVD, as to be truthul I’m fed up
with trying to find a working key for the latest version, LOL.

Can someone please tell me, does clone DVD leave any tracks or
the like in the finished Disc, like DVD X Copy does. Do not want
to get caught, just because I lend one out to a m8, and they
find my credit card details on the disc

Thanks

 1. What are you talking about ?

 2. CloneDVD 2 License Agreement

#3

Hang On, Im talking about ‘AT LAST’ buying a copy and you come back
with the CloneDVD 2 License Agreement !

What Im on about is :
If you purchase a copy of DVD X Copy, then make a DVD using said
program it leaves a type of watermark on the Burnt DVD with the
original purchasers credit card details on.
This is of course was to try and get round the legal side of things
at the time.

All I wanted to know, as far as people know here, does Clone DVd 2
do the same or similar, no point in showing me the License agreement !
I want to buy a copy, just need an answer to this question first

Thankyou

lol, you into some real James Bond 007 $&%!. It sounds like you are selling some(ole never mind).

I’m only going by stuff I read on forums 6/9 months ago, it was up at a lot of places about the watermark, I can only learn by what I read. If I have been told a wrong-un then I’m sorry.
I gather from the 2 replys that :

1 ) There is no such watermark or the like in Clone DVD 2, or come to that in DVD X copy as well
2) Nobody else on this board is/has or going to ever use a iffy copy of Clone DVd 2.

I really do want to buy it

thanks for the strange replys, matbe you can see by the replys here how easy it is to be taken in, forums allways seem to bring the worse out of people.
I have a whole theory on why, like sitting in the comfort of there own home everyone feels safe and the like, but that is another thread altogether

Thanks anyway

Only just really noticed what you said !!!

No I’m not selling, but I do a lot of ripping, M8’s borrow them, have no idea
what happens to them then, do not really care unless there is a watermark, hope you can understand my drift now.

Thankyou

 1. You sadly didn’t get the point w my question.
 2. Once again, pls read the license very carefully.

#8

Sorry if I got it wrong BoSkin

Have Re-Read the agreement and I really cannot see what you are talking about

Have just printed it out so my daughter ( who is more clever than me  ) to read, will come back as soon as I suss it.

thanks

Hopefully this post will stop whatever is being said, or actually NOT said…

CloneDVD does not put any warnings on burned discs.
CloneDVD has not come out saying there are any Watermarks.
DVD X Copy only put the Watermarks in as a protection from full blown Pirates. I have not heard of any other programs doing this.

You will be very happy with CloneDVD. (with AnyDVD of course)

Now that my interest is peaked, I want to peak into the transcoded files…

#10

Sorry BoSkin, have had 5 people here looking at the agreement
and I really cannot see anything there, any chance you could actually
point out what you mean, please :iagree:

Thanks for the time m8

Ignore Boskin, he likes his power. It makes him feel big on this forum! He is a cdfreaks Guru afterall!

But anyway:

To answer this thread which should have been answered with the first reply and not degenerate into this fuss:

Just thinking of purchasing Clone DVD, as to be truthul I’m fed up
with trying to find a working key for the latest version, LOL.

I’m glad you decided to change your mind. CloneDVD is a great piece of software that Olli (the author) deserves our money.

Can someone please tell me, does clone DVD leave any tracks or
the like in the finished Disc

No, there are no marks. You wouldn’t even know it was a copy except for the disc you put it on, it’s that good at transcoding!

Do not want to get caught, just because I lend one out to a m8, and they
find my credit card details on the disc

Technically this is illegal and not condoned here. With Fair Use we are allowed to make a back-up for our personal use only, not give it to our mates. You are however you own person, and as such, will face the consequences if ever it reaches authorities.

All i can say buy the the program, you’ll be happy and so will Olli!

Wise move!

No, of course not! It does not “watermark” the copy.

Thanks for your kind words, but regarding the “illegality” part:
This highly depends in which country you live in. I just want to remind, that some actions which might be illegal in some countries are perfectly legal in others.
E.g., in Germany giving a copy to a “mate” (a good friend in your “social surrounding”) counts as “personal use” and is legal.
Same is probably true for Switzerland, but I have to check (hey, I live there and I don’t know… shame on me!)

A true and Very Valid point.

For more information people can visit Euro-Copyrights to find out their countires specific situation.

I know I was kindding with him on my first post, but what he is wondering if there is anything that can be retrieved from the copies that may led back to him or his machine. If you do a simple Plextool CDVDInfo, it gives information like:

Hardware information

ID 1:(H:) PLEXTOR DVDR PX-712A V1.04 (S/N:XXXXXX) (-18732.-13.-53?)
Read speed: 5-12X CAV, Jumper settings: 010, Buffer under run proof disabled

Status: DVD media inserted

Type : DVD+R
Certified Write Speed: 2.4 X - 4.0 X
Drive Write Speed : 2.4 X - 4.0 X - 6.0 X - 8.0 X
Manufacturer ID : RICOHJPN
Media ID : R01
Product Revision : 02

Label: LION_KING
Contents:
2.93 GB, ISO 9660, UDF
1 layer(s) (PTP)
Application: ELBY CLONEDVD
Publisher: -
Disc region: 1 2 3 4 5 6 8
Video: MPEG-2 720x480 NTSC 16:9

As you can see with this simple program, it tells what program burnt the DVD, it also has a S/N. What he wants to know, if there is something that is burnt onto the disk that another program can look further into and led back to him, or as he says maybe a credit card number that someone can get off of the burnt DVD and use.

#16

That serial number is for your drive! If somebody else scans the disc with Plextools it will display the serial number of their drive.

You may want to XXXX it out of your previos post?

#17

Thankyou all for your input

I’m off now to purchase it :iagree:

Just to make sure you all know, I DO NOT sell, I just
have my own backups, but M8’s do borrow them

That is why I was worried about the possible watermark.

thankyou all again

#18

I have 1 question. What is M8’s ?

#19

It’s English slang predominately used in text messenging to shorten long words.
