i have just got a liteon 812s and they only burn coasters with the verbatims (i got 100 with drive) above so im thinking to replace the liteon with the nec2500

this is a burn at x8 with liteon so im not happy http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?threadid=93697

:frowning: so can you tell if nec2500 work well with this media and with firmware you used;)

Depends on the batch you got. But usually Verbatims burn very well. If they are rated as 4x then stick to 4x if you don’t want to coaster. Although they will go to 8x but it’s hit and miss sometimes.

does anyone know if this media burn great at x8? on nec2500??

Yes, they should, especially with Herrie’s latest firmware.

#4

Using Verbatim 8x DVD+R (MCC 003), I get excellent burns at 8x with Herrie’s 107b9a f/w.

I’ve been burning MCC002’s at 8x in my 2500 with herrie’s firmware for awhile now… the only media that can best 'em is Taiyo Yuden’s… note that my MCC’s are Verbatim Digital Movie 4x DVD+R, bought in 3pack jewel cases (they were in the clearance bin at walmart… SCORE!)

now this is wierd
look at this i had a little break from my pc and came up with the idea that the files i was burning (avi files, divx) was laying on a harddrive on my maxtor sata/150 pci card, so my idea was to move the files to my ordinary controller/another harddrive
and voila this is my new kprobe with the same verbatims burned at x4 speed im happy
