Do printed movie DVDs ever go bad?

Do they?. I’ve always wondered if they did after so many years. I’m guessing they are suppose to last +20 last years and longer?.

Commercially stamped disk should outlast your grand-kids if they do not get physically damaged. Burned disks a lot of variables.

Well they should do but discs that are flawed during the production process can suffer long term from internal corrosion or delamination of the bonded layers.

Thankfully this is pretty rare these days due to more consistent production techniques.

Early DVDs (and a few current ones) suffered from DVD rot.
