I am new to DVD burn and recently build new system. After reading all reviews, i bought samsung Sh-S203B drive. I don’t know what FW is running? I will check it today.
I read FAQ on Samsung and one section on RPC-1.
Do i need to use RPC-1 FW on Sh-S203B? or just use regular SB01.
What does RPC-1 provide?

Welcome onboard aggie123. 
Using rpc1 f/w with your drive is just part of the process for ‘region-free’.
Your Operating System & possibly your DVD related s/w will still be region set.
Hence s/w like AnyDVD. This acts in a way that the drive & OS etc all act as though ‘region-free’.
With a new drive you may want to stick with Samsung ‘official’ f/w. They have their own f/w update program to make it as easy as it can be.

“Blocked”=“SAMSUNG,TSST,HL-DT-ST,PLEXTOR”
Right click on Blocked & go to edit.
Remove SAMSUNG and TSST.
In case some of you don’t know how to get to the registry. In ‘Run’ box with Windows pre Vista type " regedit" Without the “” & press enter.
In Vista the search box just above the Start button. Same method.
