Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? The Burner is brand new, and I am using Memorex DVD+R DL discs trying to burn dvd media that I made myself. I never have problems burning single layer discs, but so far 0 of 10 DL have worked, they all fail at the same spot. In nero it gets a bit further and fails at 6%, in ImgBurn it fails at like the beginning every time. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The only reliable DL media is Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) made in Singapore burned at 2.4x.

You could try burning at 4x but you really should consider changing that media.

So you think it’s just the disc? I’ll try burning slower and see what happens…

Even slow speeds the discs don’t really work, there is no way to make these discs work?

Imgburn burning to fast for DL Disc, and as Dialysis1 says for best results use Verbatim DL Disc.
I burn at recommened speed 2.4x and have had no problems so far.

Right but my discs arn’t rated for 2.4x, can I still burn at 2.4x you think? I mean I have no problem buying the Verbatim, but just throwing out this pack is kind of wasteful.

These discs are not working with your burner.
There’s really not much more we can tell you.
Even slow speeds the discs don’t really work, there is no way to make these discs work?
What slow speed did you try here?

If not try 2.4 , What do you have to lose except another bad disc.At least you will know.
Still for better dependable, quality burns most of us use Verbatim.

I 02:42:57 Write Speed: MAX

As explained, your only slight chance is to burn them at 2.4x.
As explained, your only slight chance is to burn them at 2.4x.
I tried 2.4x with these discs, but they’re only rated for 4,6,8x so it auto sped up to 4x ~_~ but 15/15 have failed now!

trying to burn dvd media that I made myself.

Have you checked this on your computer? If you have, would you try opening it up in Dvd Shrink & tell me what happens?

Then they are a waste with this burner.
Next time buy Verbatim DL right away.
