Digital or Analog To Sound Card freom DVDR

My sound card has both Digital and Analog connectors. Some DVD recordes do not have Digital Out (the Sony 700 for one). Do I need this - and which recorders have this feature. Have Fun — Ray

You don’t need this. The audio from a DVD-Video stream is located in the same video files and when you rip a DVD they will also be ripped along with it. The audio outputs on your drive itself are only needed for play back of a disc, not for ripping.

Thanks for the reply. I am inquiring about the procedure at install of both the card and the recorder. I may wish to play the disk DVD’s from the computer.
