I was looking for the DRU-510A and an online vendor said these two drives were the same. What REALLY is the difference between these two, if any. If no difference, why the different numbers?
510 is a drive that should be released later this month with the same specs as the 500A/X, but it supports 4X RW for one format and 2.4X RW for the other.
The DWU10A is a OEM version of the 500A.
The link listed above has lots of good information, but I found out there is even more to this question. As was mentioned the DW-U10A is an OEM version of the 500A. The only difference is in the face plate and minor software differences (and probably price). The DRU510 is coming out in late May. The OEM drive that is similar to it is the DW-U12A.
